Assistant Pastry Chef

An assistant pastry chef bakes advanced pastry items with great quality and has the opportunity to produce new recipes. Pictures of work would be appreciated.

Job Function & Duties:

  • Bake artisan and decorative breads
  • Prepare advanced confectionaries
  • Prepare hot & cold desserts
  • Maintain workplace safety and health policies and procedures

Job Skills:

  • Superior customer service
  • Ability to use US standard and metric measurements
  • Competency in using scales, reading recipes, and modifying recipes
  • Must be neat, clean, and self-motivated
  • Must know how to work with chocolate: tempering, ganache, enrobing, and packaging
  • Ethical conduct (Follow Shady Maple Values, Vison, & Mission)
  • Team work and communication

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Active job which requires walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching,
  • Must be able to stand on feet for the duration of shift
  • Be able to move around quickly
