An assistant pastry chef bakes advanced pastry items with great quality and has the opportunity to produce new recipes. Pictures of work would be appreciated.
Job Function & Duties:
- Bake artisan and decorative breads
- Prepare advanced confectionaries
- Prepare hot & cold desserts
- Maintain workplace safety and health policies and procedures
Job Skills:
- Superior customer service
- Ability to use US standard and metric measurements
- Competency in using scales, reading recipes, and modifying recipes
- Must be neat, clean, and self-motivated
- Must know how to work with chocolate: tempering, ganache, enrobing, and packaging
- Ethical conduct (Follow Shady Maple Values, Vison, & Mission)
- Team work and communication
Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Active job which requires walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching,
- Must be able to stand on feet for the duration of shift
- Be able to move around quickly
