Shady Maple Farm Market Summer Reading Program (Ages 4–12)

Encourage your child to build a love of reading this summer with the Shady Maple Farm Market Summer Reading Program! Reading logs will be available from June 8 through July 31, 2026, and completed logs must be returned to the Customer Service Counter by store closing on August 22, 2026 to receive a completion prize of $10 off at the Shady Maple Gift Shop (See coupon for details). Each child may receive only one reading log, one replacement log if needed, and one completion prize. Children must maintain their own reading log and complete their own required reading hours. A parent or guardian should initial each reading session, although alternative verification is accepted from a sibling age 13 or older, teacher, summer camp instructor, or librarian when necessary. Reading should be recorded daily or within a reasonable timeframe, and suspicious, incomplete, or falsified logs may be reviewed or disqualified at staff discretion.

Most types of books—including picture books, chapter books, and e-books—count toward reading minutes. Audiobooks do not count toward required reading time, although reasonable accommodations may be made for children with special needs, including being read to, using audiobooks, or adjusted reading goals. Reading with a parent or guardian is encouraged, especially for younger participants. All participant information will be used solely for program administration and will not be shared. Program staff reserve the right to interpret and apply all rules, withhold prizes when program guidelines are misused, and make accommodations as needed to ensure a positive and inclusive experience for all readers.
