Job Summary: The Soup & Salad Supervisor is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all Shady-Maple customers. Shift Leads must be able to perform all duties of a clerk while being able to run the front counter when the manager is gone. Making production lists and overseeing daily activities. Answering questions and filling in were needed.
Duties and responsibilities:
- All employees are expected to uphold our company’s values, vision, and mission daily, ensuring alignment with our core principles and goals.
- Soup & Salad department must be kept clean and sanitary at all times.
- Knowledge and follow through of Pennsylvania’s Food Safety regulations
- Maintain and enforce safe working conditions at all times to maintain compliance with OSHA rules and regulations.
- Lead the department when no manager or supervisor is present
- Make production lists
- Oversee activities and make decisions concerning employees and customers.
- Assist in training new employees
- Answer phone calls as needed
- Take and enter order details in the order book and have strong follow-up skills
- Help with scheduling and performance reviews
- Change prices in Encor
- Assist with office duties (Transfers, bills, responding to emails, inventory)
- Whelp with weekly sales and ads
- Perform daily tasks given by the department manager
Required skills and abilities:
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, Encor, Kwiktags
- Prioritize tasks when necessary
- Willingness to help others
- Attention to details
Education and Experience: Prior retail and leadership experience required.

- Must be able to lift 30 pounds 30% of the time
- Job requires, walking, bending kneeling, and standing
- Ability to stand on feet for the duration of the shift
- Work in and out of coolers as needed
- Able to wait, possibly hours, before having a lunch break
- Lifting, pulling, pushing 30% of the time
