Job Summary:

  • Stockers are readily available to provide excellent customer service and assist customers in any way necessary. Main duties include taking cases of produce from the cooler to the store floor to ensure that isles remain full, as well as working with managers and supervisors to ensure that daily tasks are completed. They must ensure that produce remains fresh and stocked in an organized fashion.

 Duties and responsibilities: 

  • Move cartloads/skid loads of produce from the warehouse cooler to the floor
  • Make use of cart space by loading a minimum of 12 cases/ bags per cart
  • Rotate produce with each fill up to ensure that all produce remains fresh
  • Stock displays in an efficient yet safe manner that does not damage produce
  • When filling an aisle or front, always look for bruised or damaged produce before filling. This produce can then be taken to the seconds table where it is discounted
  • Maintain awareness of all product information, prices, and weekly specials
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and practices, including signing and pricing.
  • Calmly deal with customer complaints by communicating them to your manager/supervisor
  • Dispose of all cardboard in the baler, and all trash in the dumpster. (18 and up)
  • Break down produce pallets, separating produce for sales floor, cooler and/or back room
  • Perform routine price changes on products

Physical Requirements:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

  • Ability to lift 50lbs multiple times during shift
  • Active job which requires walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching
  • Able to stand/walk for the duration of shift
  • Ability to work overnight
  • Must be able to work on a step stool/ladder
  • Hearing required for auditory communication
  • Must be able to push carts/pull hand jacks skids through the warehouse floor
