Job Summary: The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operational functions of the store to ensure efficient processes, strong inventory control, and a well-organized retail environment. The Operations Manager works closely with store leadership and department managers to ensure accurate inventory levels, efficient processes, and smooth coordination between departments. By maintaining strong operational standards and identifying opportunities for improvement, this position plays a critical role in supporting sales performance and delivering a positive customer experience. The ideal candidate will have strong management skills, a sharp business mindset, and excellent problem-solving abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Working with the General Manager, the Operations Manager’s job is to find synergistic ways to improve the operations of the Gift Shop. This includes finding processes that allow employees to work more efficiently, communicate with each other better, and provide better results for the customer. Inventory management is a large aspect of this job, maintaining accurate inventory counts is a vital piece of helping each buyer out and keeping a healthy inventory in the store. A Operations manager must be a good leader for the other employees in the Gift Shop.Acting as the store’s representative, the Operations Manager is expected to set a positive example for the staff, ensuring smooth and efficient store operations.

Expected Outcomes:

· Assist the store manager in planning and implementing strategies to attract customers

· Oversee daily store operations to ensure efficiency, organization, and productivity

· Monitor and maintain store inventory

· Coordinate with buyers and department leaders to maintain accurate inventory levels

· Supervise and motivate staff to perform their best

· Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures

· Become capable of filling in for other management roles if needed (scheduling, purchasing, merchandising, ect.)

· Act as our store’s representative and set an example for our staff

Required Skills and Abilities:

· Experience in retail operations, inventory management, or store leadership

· Familiarity with financial and customer service principles.

· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

· Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel. Good computer skills

· Strong leadership and organizational abilities.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Education and Experience:

· Previous retail management, or operations management experience required.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand for extended periods.

· Capable of lifting and carrying inventory items as needed.
