Job Summary: Provide support in multiple areas of production as assigned by Bakery Production Manager. Main duties include assisting in packaging finished product, cake day preparations, dumping cakes, screening donuts, and assisting the mixing area by prepping ingredients prior to incorporation of recipes.
Duties and responsibilities:
- All employees are expected to uphold our company’s values, vision, and mission in their daily work and interactions, ensuring alignment with our core principles and goals.
- Utilize wheeled carts and bakery racks to transport finished products from the production area to the wholesale dock/shelf via the freight elevator.
- Utilize bakery equipment to help in the preparation of baked goods, as well as finished product.
- Utilize wheeled metal bakery racks to transport bakery products within production area.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by management.
Required skills and abilities:
- Ability to learn by on-the-job training.
- Knowledgeable of wholesale needs e.g. special orders, “wheels,” labels, etc.
- Capable of multi-tasking, being flexible, and having initiative in the work environment.
- Dedicated to monitor and maintain quality control standards especially the final inspection of finished products.
- Characterized by responsibility and good people skills in relating to customers on the loading dock.
- Must be willing to learn multiple job positions/tasks within the bakery.
Education and Experience: On-the-job training is provided
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
- Must be able to lift 50lb – 50% of the time
- Job requires, walking, bending kneeling, and standing
- Be able to move around quickly
- Ability to stand on feet for the duration of shift
- Be able to work in hot/wet conditions more than 50% of the time
- Pulling, and pushing loaded racks/carts of product
- Lifting, pulling, pushing – 50% of the time
