Job Summary: The Cashiers/Baggers are responsible for providing excellent customer service to all Shady-Maple customers following the company’s values, vision, and mission. They have several responsibilities, including, set up and preparation of registers, general cashiering knowledge, friendly customer service skills, WIC knowledge, troubleshooting, and closing.
Duties and responsibilities:
- All employees are expected to uphold our company’s values, vision, and mission daily, ensuring alignment with our core principles and goals.
- Set up and preparation: Removing mats from evening cleaning, putting down bag racks, washing registers, stocking supplies, checking machines,
- General Cashier Knowledge: Have the ability to run a register, bag groceries to meet customer needs, control shrink, and balance your till.
- Demonstrate WIC knowledge: Attend mandatory store and state law meetings,
- Training: attend training classes when needed
- Communication: Have the ability to communicate with customers and associates by showing care and compassion. To be able to share needs and issues as they arise.
- Customer Service: To give remarkable customer service all the time by smiling, being present, and helping all customers to the best of your ability with a smile
- Understanding of Loyalty Lanes and other programs/specials we offer

Education and Experience: Prior retail experience is a plus but not a pre-requisite

- Must be able to lift 30-pound boxes
