Breakfast Supervisor

Job Summary: The Breakfast Supervisor supervises and assists the breakfast department staff with the goal of producing a wide array of breakfast food items of exceptional quality and maintaining an attractive buffet bar. While meeting or exceeding health and safety requirements, and providing exceptional customer service and satisfaction. Duties include scheduling, supervising, training, and assisting both kitchen and buffet staff, managing food and supplies inventories, and coordinating daily food preparation tasks.

 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Receive and follow directions given by the Breakfast Manager and if needed coordinate with the Buffet Manager.
  • Supervise the staff with all related procedures for work productivity, quality, storage, and presentation including…
  • Communicating with employees, giving appropriate praise and correction, answering questions, directing and assisting in the resolution of problems and conflicts, helping them maintain positive attitudes, and making sure they are performing their job duties satisfactorily
  • Assisting customers with dietary questions, and all other related questions.
  • Manage Staffing
  • Assisting manager with employee training, development
  • Monitoring inventory of Breakfast foods and supply inventories and communicating with the purchasing manager as necessary.
  • Planning and delegating daily food preparation tasks.
  • Overseeing breakfast grills, front grills, and the buffet, including quality control, availability, sanitation, and health and safety requirements.
  • Ensuring that work and storage areas are orderly and clean.
  • Perform the duties of a breakfast department employee as designated by schedule and need.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience: At least six months of combined experience performing the duties of the various breakfast positions. Education and/or experience in culinary arts is preferred.

  • Department operations are smooth, efficient, productive, and resourceful, food products are fresh, edible, and presented attractively
  • Assigned duties are completed properly and promptly.

Physical Requirements:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully

  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull 10-40 pounds– 20% of the time
  • Be able to move around quickly
  • Walking, bending, kneeling, standing, pushing and pulling
  • Availability to stand on feet for the duration of shift
