As the leaves begin to turn in Lancaster County, so do our appetites. Crisp mornings, colorful foliage, and the scent of harvest in the air bring back memories of home-cooked meals and family gatherings. At Shady Maple Smorgasbord, our fall buffet is filled with seasonal favorites and Pennsylvania Dutch comfort foods that taste like autumn itself.
The Flavors of Fall
No fall meal feels complete without roast turkey with rich gravy and a scoop of hearty filling – a classic combination that reminds us of Sunday dinners and Thanksgiving traditions. Alongside it, you’ll find both baked ham and carved ham, savory and tender, served hot and fresh.
Warm side dishes round out the plate with seasonal flavor. Guests love our baked sweet potatoes and creamy sweet potato casserole, perfect for pairing with a drizzle of gravy or a slice of ham. And on Wednesdays, don’t miss our famous chicken pot pie, a Pennsylvania Dutch specialty made the traditional way.
Sweet Endings
Of course, dessert is where fall shines. Our bakery team prepares apple dumplings served warm with ice cream, along with classic pumpkin pie and rich shoofly pie- a Lancaster County favorite. Each sweet bite captures the cozy spirit of autumn.
A Sip of the Season
From September through December, we also serve fresh apple cider, a seasonal treat that pairs perfectly with any meal and adds that final touch of fall comfort.
