Shady Maple's Green Energy Project

Shady Maple has partnered with MVE Solar to install a 1.7 million dollar solar PV system. The solar system will total 382.11 KW and be comprised of five separate solar arrays at the Shady Maple Complex. When completed, Shady Maple’s solar project will produce approximately 459,116 KWH of electricity annually. MVE Solar, a division of MVE Group, Inc. is responsible for the design and installation of the system. The project is estimated to be complete by March 2011.

A benefit of solar technology is the reduction of electricity cost at peak times, such as hot days in the summer when electricity prices and demands are the highest. In addition, solar electricity reduces the amount of emissions that contribute to air pollution.

Shady Maple is pleased that this investment in renewable energy will avoid the emission of approximately 324 tons of carbon dioxide annually; also the equivalent of 11,300 gallons of crude oil annually; therefore reducing their carbon footprint.
